For more than 10 years, Furry Godmothers has been taking care of orphaned kittens in the Lubbock, TX area.

What we do

We take in orphaned kittens, more commonly known as “bottle babies.” For the first eight weeks of a kitten’s life, they rely on their mother’s milk to survive. Depending on the age, these kittens must be fed every 3-5 hours. Since traditional shelters do not have to resources and staff to feed kittens the 24/7 that they demand, smaller independent non-profits, such as Furry Godmothers, take action.

Time-line:

Once we receive a kitten, we bottle feed it and nurse it back to health until it no longer needs milk and can eat dry food. Once a kitten reaches this stage, we give first vaccinations, tests, spay/neuter, and microchip them. After that, we take them to adoptions to find their fur-ever home!
